New CCTV Evidence In Mercy Accident Case Involving The Son Of NTB Regional Police Officer
JAKARTA - CCTV footage has become new evidence or clues in handling the fatal accident case that killed Syamil and involved Maulana Malik Ibrahim, son of a West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police official and Ira Riswana. The recording is also being investigated.
"Investigators already have the recording in the context of the events at the time of the incident," said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to reporters, Tuesday, April 4.
Previously, the Syamil family repeatedly stated that there were CCTVs at several points that recorded the incident of the fatal accident.
But because the process collided with administrative processes which required time, the CCTV footage was only obtained.
"There is a manager for the CCTV. So it takes time for investigators to request or formal correspondence to request the CCTV footage," he said.
Currently, the CCTV footage is being investigated by the digital forensic team. Later, the evidence will be used to determine the suspect. This is because the case is already under investigation.
"With this CCTV evidence, of course, it will be carried out digitally forensically as evidence," said Trunoyudo.
In the investigation process, 10 witnesses who have been questioned will be re-examined.
"The results of the statements of the 10 people were taken at the outset. Later in the investigation process, statements will be taken as witnesses," said Trunoyudo.
The police have opened a case against the accident. As a result, it is believed that there was a criminal offense so the legal status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
