Winning The Straight Game, Greysia / Apriyani Strolled Into The Thailand Open Quarter-finals

JAKARTA - The women's doubles team Red and White Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu stepped into the quarter-finals of the Yonex Thailand Open 2021 after defeating the host's representative Puttita Supajirakul / Sapsiree Taerattanachai, Thursday, January 14.

In the 58-minute second round match at Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, the fifth seeded pair won a straight game over Supajirakul / Taerattanachai with a score of 21-18, 21-13.

The match had been running at a fast tempo since the first game because the two couples were both playing aggressively. However, Greysia / Apriyani continued to lead the scoring.

On the final points, the Thai representative made a mistake with some stray shots, thus adding to the points for Greysia / Apriyani until finally winning with an initial score of 21-18.

In the second game, Supajirakul / Taerattanachai didn't seem to want to just give up. They gave resistance even though Greysia / Apriyani still dominated the game.

However, the women's doubles ranked eighth in the world remained calm in facing these attacks. Greysia / Apriyani continued to lead and regained the second game with a final score of 21-13.
