Wheelchair From Ganjar For Children With Disabilities Memorizing The Koran
JAKARTA - Kholilurohman's lips, a disabled boy, recite a verse for the sake of a short letter juz 30 in the Koran, on his wheelchair. He is preparing to go to study Koran at his village prayer room, Gunungpring Village, Muntilan District, Magelang.
Maman, his nickname, is a 6th grade elementary school boy who has received an electric wheelchair prize from the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo. Maman met Ganjar after becoming the 3rd winner of Porsadin (International Sports and Art Week) in the tahfiz category, in October 2022. Now, the wheelchair is a friend of his activities.
Together with his wheelchair, every day the boy who was born on March 14, 2010 went back and forth to school. After school, then continued at madrasahniyah until the afternoon. It did not stop there, he then studied the Koran to Ustaz musala in his village, until before sunset.
Maman does have a high enthusiasm for learning compared to children her age, even with her physical limitations. Both legs have been paralyzed since birth. He was only cared for by Khoiriyah (44), his biological mother.
"Initially I took part in the tahfiz competition representing the school, and managed to win 3. He said I was invited to meet with Pak Ganjar," said Maman, Thursday, March 30.
He was happy to be able to meet and talk with Ganjar. Maman was unable to hide his joy when he shared the momentum. Moreover, when he was offered a wheelchair to help his daily activities.
"Continue to be offered a wheelchair. I was immediately invited to the shop and told to choose a wheelchair. Very happy feeling, given a t-shirt and a wheelchair," explained Maman.
According to him, the Governor's wheelchair was able to make his learning spirit even more fiery. "The wheels are made of school and also used to go to the Koran. Yes, I'm even more enthusiastic, I have to be even more enthusiastic about studying it," he said.
Meanwhile, Khoiriyah, Maman's biological mother, felt proud, her child did not give up on the situation. For him, the wheelchair was very helpful. Previously, Khoiriyah had to carry her child and take him to school on a motorbike, who had been given security at the back. However, at this time he was only watching when Maman left in a wheelchair while on the road.
I learned a lot from my son, because his passion for life was extraordinary. With the help of wheelchairs, my son is getting more enthusiastic about learning and studying," said the mother who only sells market snacks on a daily basis.
