Five Cannabis Drivers In Papua Arrested Starting From TNI Raids
The Keerom Police managed to secure five people involved in a marijuana case weighing 1.4 kilograms in Keerom Regency, Papua. The perpetrators were first arrested by members of the TNI during a raid.
Keerom Police Chief AKBP Christian Aer said the five people who were arrested were MDT (23), MR (30), OSM (33), SBA (32), and ALA (33) where the disclosure began with the arrest of MDT by members of the TNI Task Force Battalion 132/BS at KM 76 Kampung Wembi, Mannem District on Sunday, March 12 during a raid.
"At that time MDT was found carrying 17 clear plastic packs with a total of 1,126.80 grams of marijuana which was then handed over to the Narcotics Unit for further processing," he said.
He said from the results of the MDT examination, a case was developed so that it was known that the marijuana would be brought and given to ALA at Kamp. Bibioshi because a friend of the OSM ordered the marijuana to be exchanged for his motorbike.
"Then at MR, OSM, ALA and SBAI's house waiting for MDT who was carrying marijuana from Waris," he said.
He explained that currently the five suspects had been detained at the Keerom Police Headquarters for further investigation.
He added that when the Narcotics Unit developed the case and looked for evidence to the suspects involved, six plastic packages containing 326.29 grams of marijuana were obtained, MR had 2.15 grams and ALA had 16.14 grams of marijuana.
"So the evidence was secured simultaneously with two motorbikes where one unit was used when carrying drugs and another unit that will be exchanged for marijuana," he said again.
To each of the suspects, a different article was determined in accordance with the provisions of each role carried out by the suspects who were directly involved in storing, possessing, knowing, and assisting the Narcotics case.
The suspect MDT is subject to Article 111 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine of at least Rp. 800 million.
MR is subject to Article 111 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years and a fine of at least Rp. 800 million.
OSM, SBAI and ALA actors are subject to Article 114 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine of at least 1 billion and a maximum of IDR 10 billion and article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum imprisonment of four years and a maximum of 12 years and a maximum fine of IDR 800 million and a maximum of IDR 8 billion.
