All The Way, Mocca Rasa Anime New Song
JAKARTA - The Mocca band started their adventure in 2021 by releasing the song All The Way, a cheerful song that is deeply embedded in the nuances of Japanese anime.
The sixth single from the album Day By Day will be released on January 15, 2021 on digital music platforms.
All The Way is one of the songs that Mocca worked on at the start of the pandemic, made to give energy and enthusiasm to live the days of the new year.
Toma Pratama (bassist) started the process of making the song All The Way from home, and a song was born but did not have the lyrics. With the intention of making a sweet tune that can be enjoyed while relaxing, Toma made a tone with a guitar which was then played to Arina Ephipania (vocals), Riko Prayitno (guitar), and Indra Massad (drums).
"When it became the song, said Indra and Riko, 'this is really Japan!'," Said Toma in a virtual talk, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.
After Toma finished his song, Arina began composing the lyrics of All The Way, which tells the story of an expression of someone's happiness because they find the key to happiness in their life, namely their partner.
The process of making the lyrics took about an hour, after which the theme was agreed upon with Riko and armed with the muttering of the lyrics from Toma.
The song, which is equipped with the lyrics, has been re-arranged with Riko and Indra.
Not only the nuance is similar to an anime song, Mocca also sang All The Way in the Japanese version. In the process of translating the lyrics, Arina is assisted by her husband, Hiroaki Kato. He adjusted the Japanese lyrics to suit the vocalist Arina's character.
"Because Arina sings, her language is a little feminine ... Hopefully many Japanese people can hear and enjoy it," said Hiro, who thinks All The Way reminds him of the ending song of the animated series.
Hiro also helped Arina in the process of recording the vocals for the Japanese version so that her pronunciation sounded really fluent. Considering the work was not in the studio, but at home, they recorded it in the early hours of the morning, when it was completely quiet.
"While it's quiet, usually there is the sound of a motorbike or a meatball maker," joked Hiro.
Speaking of Japan, the Mocca band members do have an interest in Sakura, such as comics and animations that colored their childhood.
Arina, who is married to a Japanese musician, as a child likes to watch animations including Candy Candy and collects comics such as Topeng Kaca. When Mocca had the opportunity to perform in Japan, she described the experience as a dream.
Meanwhile, Riko and Indra said they were currently enjoying the animated films from Studio Ghibli.
Mocca is also present in an old-style animated version of the song All The Way. Arina, Riko, Indra, and Toma collaborated with Alifia SM, a young graphic designer from Bandung.
He completed it alone in a month, armed with animated references such as Voltus V.
Alifia depicts Mocca's personnel in animated form, according to their individual characteristics, into four time travelers from four different eras.
With their respective strengths, Arina, Riko, Toma, and Indra go on an adventure to find the key to happiness. The adventures of Alifia's Mocca are featured in a music video that will air on January 15, 2021 on the Mocca YouTube channel.
Through All The Way, Mocca hopes to share energy to stay happy, always think positively, and can be a medicine in the midst of uncertainty and pessimism.
While holding the latest album, Riko shows the Mocca logo decorated with a keyhole image. He said, "(The message) is looking for the key to happiness that can be sought from yourself."
So, what is the key to happiness for Mocca?
Indra said the key to his happiness was Mocca and her own family, while the key to Arina's version of happiness was being able to find herself in a better version in the midst of a pandemic.
Sincerity and sincerity are the keys to happiness for Toma, while Riko said that being able to work and release an album in the midst of uncertain conditions is happiness for him.
"Because not many bands can survive in 2020 creatively," he said.
The Japanese version of All the Way will be available exclusively in digital format in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea this year.
