Google Search Launches Many New Features To Improve Information Verification
JAKARTA - Every day, people access Google to find information. Google Search also helps everyone to find high-quality information from around the world, from diverse and credible sources, and find new perspectives to help them better understand the world.
To improve better search results, Google is rolling out some new features that will help you find more credible information. These features include:
Features About These Results
When browsing on Google, you may see the results of a well-known website as well as a source you don't know. To help you evaluate information, the About this result feature will be available in all languages in the coming days.
So later, when you search for something in Google, you will see a three-dot symbol next to most of the results in Google Search. By clicking on the three dots, Google will provide you with more information about where the information you see and how the company's system determines the information is useful for your query.
Perspective Features (Perspectives)
As important as understanding the sources you see in Google Search is finding various sources and perspectives that can help you better understand the news. This Perspective feature will appear under the Top News and display insights from various journalists, experts, and other relevant voices about the topics you are exploring.
Don't worry, with this feature you will find various perspectives from trusted sources to help expand your understanding. This feature will soon roll out in English in the US and will be available on desktop and mobile.
Features About This page
In addition to the About this result feature, you can also learn more information about sources and topics on certain pages. So, starting today, you can type the organization's URL in Google Search and Information from About this page in the form of sites or recent coverage of the organization will be filled at the top of the Search. This feature is now globally available in English.
Find information gap
Sometimes, not a lot of good information is shown for searches, or the results change quickly. To overcome this information gap, Google will automatically display content suggestions in situations when a topic grows rapidly.
Google is also expanding its advice on quality information gaps to new languages, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan in the coming months.
