Parents' Credit Card Bills Of Up To Rp. 28.5 Million, Gegara 8 Year Old Boy Enjoys Gacha

JAKARTA - Children these days are difficult to be separated from technology. They can use it to play games, watch videos, and learn. Nothing wrong with Pew Research in its research, calling the latest generation the Digital Native.

But that doesn't mean they are experts right away. There is still much to learn and direct. Especially with regard to using the device properly and correctly. And you cannot immediately blame the children when you make mistakes.

This experience is currently facing a businessman from the Philippines, Julmar Grace Locsin (39). He found that his son had spent more than 2 thousand United States (US) dollars playing mobile games.

Through a Facebook upload, Locsin said that the findings began when he was looking at a list of bank transactions. At that time, he discovered that Tice, one of his twin sons, bought an item in the mobile game without his knowledge on Wednesday, January 6.

Previously, Locsin's husband's cellphone was handed over to his son at Christmas last year. Locsin and her husband have also confirmed that the cellphone can only run child-friendly applications - such as Messenger Kids, Superbook, and War Robots.

"We control their time with technology. They are only allowed to play smartphones for two hours a day. The only applications that can be installed are Superbook, War Robots, and Messenger Kids. Especially for Tice, because she likes robots. "He wants to be a robotics expert in the future, so this is our step to develop his interest," Locsin told Inquirer via Mashable, Wednesday, January 13.

However, like most smartphone applications, there is always an in-app purchase option. And that's where Tice got started. Until finally, the eight-year-old boy started using paid services.

“At first I was shocked and angry. I immediately called the two of them and asked, in an already elevated voice. My son explained that the first version was boring, so he chose a better version, ”explained Locsin.

Indeed, the Tice boy had no intention of spending his parents' money on applications. However, he violated the main rule, namely downloading other applications. What did he get? Hard slap, of course.

Furthermore, Locsin and her husband gathered Tice and her twin sister, Sovi, to discuss lessons from the incident.

"He sobbed sobbing after we explained and forgave him. She was so finished and so cute with a look that was hard to resist. We explained that they are more valuable than all the money in the world, but following the rules is an important life skill to have, ”explained Locsin.

Now, Locsin and her husband have put precautions on their Google Play account. Such as Parental Control and Password. They are also processing returns and from purchases made by Tice.
