Arteria Dahlan Calls The Appointment Of Komjen Listyo Sigit Damaging The Polri Order
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Arteria Dahlan said that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) move to appoint Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the sole candidate for the National Police Chief damaged the order at his institution was misguided.
The appointment is actually part of the police's internal improvement efforts.
"It is time to focus on making the National Police the answer to the challenges and needs of the public. This long leadership period can be used to realize the Polri's vision of a professional, modern and trustworthy," explained Arteria to VOI, Wednesday, January 13.
Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo currently serves as the Head of Criminal Investigation and is a police academic dropout in 1991. With a long retirement period, the position as Chief of Police will be 'durable'.
"We are no longer preoccupied with changing the Chief of Police every year, there is no room to play the carriage there, the car here. All one carriage is under the leadership of the National Police Chief. I am sure that Mas Sigit is able to answer that challenge," said Arteria.
The PDI-P politician added that the DPR RI through Commission III will work seriously in carrying out a fit and proper test.
So that, the fulfillment of administrative requirements, competence, professionalism and commitment to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia can be achieved.
"Of course I fully support and oversee the wishes and decision of the President to nominate Mas Sigit to become Chief of Police," said Arteria.

Listyo Sigit Prabowo was formally proposed as the sole National Police candidate by President Jokowi based on Presidential Letter (Surpres) No. R-02 / Pres / 01/2021 conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno to the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, Puan Maharani, in parliament, Wednesday, January 13.
