Former Jokowi Adjutant Becomes A Candidate For National Police Chief, KPK Deputy Chair: Personally I Like Komjen Listyo

JAKARTA - Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo was chosen by President Joko Widodo to become a candidate for National Police to replace General Idham Azis who is currently retiring. The name of this former Jokowi aide has been submitted to the DPR.

Responding to this, KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolanggo hopes that the cooperation between the KPK and the National Police can be more synergized. Mainly in eradicating criminal acts of corruption.

"In the future, of course, we hope that the coordination work between the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission will appear to synergize and provide useful results for the two institutions and of course for the efforts to eradicate corruption itself," said Nawawi in his statement, Wednesday, January 13.

Because, while Listyo Sigit served as Kabareskrim, coordination and supervision of corruption cases went well. For that, he considered Jokowi's steps to be quite good.

"So far, Komjen Listyo Sigit's profile is sufficient, even very good in the coordination relationship among law enforcement agencies. He is very open and responsive to coordination and supervision efforts," said Nawawi.

Then, Nawawi considered Listyo an extraordinarily calm figure. Nawawi emphasized that this statement was conveyed as a personal view, not the view of the KPK institution.

"Personally I like Komjen Listyo, he is so caring and incredibly calm," said Nawawi.

It is known that President Jokowi, through the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), has submitted a Presidential Letter regarding the appointment of Listyo as the sole candidate for National Police Chief to replace Idham Azis to the DPR, Wednesday (13/1/2021). The presidential surpres was received by the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani at the Parliament Building.

Furthermore, Komjen Listyo will undergo a fit and proper test which is planned to be held by Commission III of the DPR next week.
