Wait 2025, Mercedes Presents Tesla Model 3 Challenger

JAKARTA - A German car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz is preparing a third-generation CLA model, which is being prepared to be a competitor to the Tesla Model 3.

The four-door coupe-style car is still in the form of a concept and will be displayed at an automotive exhibition in Munich. It is estimated that this car will be available in early 2025.

This car is one of four models of 'Entry Luxury' launched by Mercedes-Benz in the next three years. Quoted from Autocar, Monday, March 27, this latest CLA will have a choice between self-developed electric and hybrid gas drivetrains.

The latest CLA sedans will join three other models, namely CLA Shooting Brake, Crossover GLA/EQA, and SUV GLB/EQB. The four models will be produced in electricity and gasoline at the Mercy, Rastatt, Germany, and Kecskemet factories, Hungary.

According to Mercedes-Benz CEO, Ola Kryptlenius, the concept model will use the latest platform, namely the Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) which was previously shown in the Vision EQXX concept car which is different from other platforms MB-EA.

The MMA platform is being developed both for full-electric models and combustion engines. However K19llenius also added that its platform prioritizes electricity. He also emphasized that he would fully support electric car models for production by 2025 of the MMA platform as the basis for electric versions in C-Class and GLC.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the MMA platform has a high voltage of 800V with up to 350 kW of charging. This makes fast car battery charging from 10-80 percent within 30 minutes.

If the CLA is implanted with the same 100 kWh capacity as Vision EQXX, the distance from the sedan can reach 852 km, whether it is a single front wheel drive and double bike back drive.
