The First Session Of Domestic Violence, Ferry Irawan Bantah Causes Mimisan To Venna Melinda

JAKARTA - On Monday, March 27 yesterday, Ferry Irawan underwent his first trial. The 46-year-old man denied that Venna Melinda's wound to bleeding was caused by him.

The wound suffered by Venna in the case of domestic violence (KDRT) in Kediri was stated by Ferry Irawan due to Venna's own behavior.

Ferry Irawan's attorney, Jeffry Simatupang, said that this had been explained by the Public Prosecutor (JPU). This information is considered in line with the statement from his client.

"What is certain is that in the indictment there is no fracture in the head or in the ribs. And the injury does not cause no obstructing work. Then the next one in the indictment, the Public Prosecutor stated that Mrs. V hit her own face," said Jeffry Simatupang when contacted by the media crew on Monday, March 27 evening.

"That is in accordance with Pak Ferry's statement when he was questioned at the East Java Regional Police and according to our exception as well. Mrs. V was beating her own face at that time," he continued.

The attorney questioned how his client could make Venna live. Because, he said, from the results of the post-mortem, the wounds on the lips and under the nose came from beatings.

"The question now is whether the blood coming out was the result of a blow to his own face or whether it was true that there was an act by Mr. Ferry. Because if we look at the results of the post-mortem, it turns out that the wound on the top of the lip and under the nose, there is a wound. So if there is a wound, it means there is a beating," explained Jeffry.

In yesterday's trial, Ferry Irawan was charged with two articles, namely Article 44 and Article 45 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence. Jeffry Simatupang objected to the indictment. He considered that the application of Article 44 paragraph 1 was wrong, so his client could only be charged with Article 44 paragraph 4 which is lighter.

"Oh yes, please (relieve). If paragraph 4 appears, it will be much easier, because the threat is only 4 months. That's according to what I've said so far. Indeed, Mr. Ferry should apply Article 44 paragraph 4. Now today, it turns out that there is article 44 paragraph 4 as a subsidiary indictment," concluded Jeffry Simatupang, Ferry Irawan's attorney.
