Prevent Oil Spill, Pertamina Prepares Oil Boom Around MT Kristin's Ship
PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has confirmed that there will be no oil spills around Mataram waters where MT Kristin caught fire carrying Pertamina's fuel.
However, to prevent an oil spill, PIS has prepared a total oil boom of 300 meters to anticipate an oil spill.

"Because the hotspots came from the mooring of the front of the ship and were not directly affected by the ship's fuel tank," he told the media quoted on Tuesday, March 28.
After the fire was extinguished at 21.00 Sunday evening local time, PIS together with the Pelindo Team and Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) carried out cooling to prevent the fire from returning.
Currently, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has successfully carried out salvage or assistance activities for the ship MT Kristin, which now has docked at the pier of PT Pantai Damai Sejahtera (PDS), West Lombok.
As is known, the ship MT Kristin is a ship owned by PT Hanlyn Jaya Mandiri, which was rented by PIS to transport fuel cargo in the form of Pertalite to the Integrated Ampenan Terminal and Fuel Terminal Sanggaran.
The position of PIS in this case is as a ship tenant, where in the lease agreement or PIS charter always emphasizes to ship owners to prioritize HSSE aspects in operations related to crew safety and ship cargo cargo cargo cargo.
