JAKARTA - The Palestinians have again shown their solidarity with Indonesia. This time, they shared their condolences for the downing of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route on Saturday, January 9.
Not only within the Palestinian territories, condolences are also carried out by Palestinians in Malaysia, through the Malaysian Community Organization
Domestically, hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza held occult prayers for the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route. Launching Anadolu Agency, the occult prayer led by Emad Abo Hozaifah and attended by parents and children, was held in the North Jabaliyah area.
"Currently we are gathered here, our hearts are truly grieving to feel the sorrow of our brothers, the Indonesian people who are grieving," said Emad.
Meanwhile, Abdillah Onim, an Indonesian volunteer who coordinated the occult prayers, admitted that he was touched by the solidarity of the Palestinians with the calamities that occurred in Indonesia.
"Their presence is not to receive assistance from Indonesia, but to voluntarily attend in order to join the Janazah prayer and prayer together for the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane crash," he explained.
Meanwhile in Malaysia, the Palestinian diaspora in the neighboring country expressed deep sorrow for the flight accident that occurred.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the Sriwijaya Air flight accident," said Muslim Imran, head of the Palestinian Community Organization Malaysia.
"We also convey the solidarity of the Palestinian people to the Indonesian people in facing this tragedy. My prayers for Indonesia in overcoming these sad times," he said.
