Argentina Reportedly Sent A Letter To FIFA Regarding Indonesia's Availability To Host The 2023 U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - Argentina is said to be interested in submitting to replace Indonesia as the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup. As a quick step, the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) has reportedly written to FIFA regarding their willingness.

Previously, it was known that the 2023 U-20 World Cup would be held in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11. However, recently news broke about the potential for the cancellation of the agenda in Indonesia.

This news comes in line with FIFA's decision to cancel the draw agenda or the 2023 U-20 World Cup draw which was supposed to be held in Bali on March 31.

FIFA's decision is believed to be related to the rejection of a number of parties, including Bali Governor I Wayan Koster, of the presence and participation of the Israeli team in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

Quoted from Argentine media, Dobleamarilla on Monday, March 27, Indonesia's potential was crossed out as the host, making the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) act quickly.

They expressed their willingness to host a replacement. This seriousness has been shown by sending a letter to FIFA.

''AFA immediately moved quickly and sent an offer proposal to FIFA if Indonesia cancels hosting the 2023 U-20 World Cup,' the report reads.

"This offer has been submitted by AFA since a few days ago, following various uncertainties related to Indonesia's continuation as the host," continued the source explaining the reason.

Even though they have written to FIFA, Argentina still has to wait for the results of the efforts of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI). Until now, PSSI is still lobbying FIFA for the continuation of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.

Later, PSSI's move can determine whether Indonesia will remain the host, or FIFA will consider replacing the 2023 U-20 World Cup host country.

Argentina is so eager to propose to host a replacement for lucrative reasons. If granted, they will benefit by appearing in the U-20 World Cup finals.

Whereas previously the Argentine U-20 national team failed to qualify from the group stage of the 2023 Conmebol U-20 Cup, which became a ticket determination event for the U-20 World Cup finals.
