Deadly Accident On The Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, Five People Died

JAKARTA - Five people died and two were injured in an accident at the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road, Riau Province, Wednesday, January 13, at around 08.30 WIB.

Reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 13, Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Branch Manager AAG Indrajana said, in this accident there were seven victims. Five victims died at the scene of the case and two victims were injured.

The accident involved a Fuso truck with a BK-8600-KG vehicle plate at KM 32 Line B Lane 1 and a minibus with a BM-1730-PM license plate.

"The injured were evacuated to Awal Bros Hospital, Jalan A. Yani Pekanbaru," he said.

Based on the results of field investigations, he continued, the temporary suspicion that the black minibus driver traveling from Dumai to Pekanbaru was sleepy.

"The driver was driving the vehicle in a sleepy condition and at high speed and then hit the back of the right-hand truck which was in a slow lane," he said.

The collision resulted in the final position of the minibus crossing in a fast lane and the condition of the vehicle was quite severe.

The accident, said Indrajana, had been handled by the Operation and Maintenance Division of the PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Toll Road as the manager of the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road involving the local police.

As for the names of the victims who died, namely H. Napitupulu, Jerri Jonggok, Linda Tambunan, Dua Simangunsong, and Jhon Efraim Butar-butar.

"PT Hutama Karya also condolences the incident that happened to the victim," he said.

He then appealed to all toll road users to continue to be careful and vigilant in driving and obey all traffic rules and signs on the toll road.
