Becoming A Candidate For The National Police Chief, This Is Listyo Sigit Prabowo's Career Leap
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Letter Number R-02 / Pres / 01/2021 proposing the name of Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the sole candidate for Chief of Police of his choice.
The presidential surpres was conveyed by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno to the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, at the Parliament building, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 13.
"Today, President Joko Widodo has submitted a proposal from the Chief of Police to the Indonesian Parliament, on behalf of Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to obtain DPR approval," said Puan in her official statement, Wednesday, January 13.
Currently, Listyo has served as Head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency as of December 6, 2019. His career in the state apparatus began when Listyo graduated from the Police Academy in 1991.
Listyo's first high-ranking position was Chief of the Pati Police (Kapolres) in 2009. Then, Listyo took on the position of Kapolres Sukoharjo in 2010. In the same year, Listyo served as Deputy Head of the Districtabes Semarang.
Subsequently, Listyo served as the Surakarta (Solo) Police Chief in 2011, when President Jokowi was still Mayor of Solo.
In 2012, Listyo's position was again promoted to Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Directorate of Criminal and Criminal Investigation Polri, followed by the position of Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police in 2013.
In 2014, Jokowi, when he was elected President of the Republic of Indonesia, brought Listyo as his adjutant. Two years later, in 2016, Listyo became the Head of the Banten Provincial Police.
Listyo was then appointed as Head of the Police's Professional and Security Division in 2018. Finally, this Ambon-born man has been the Head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency from 2019 to the present.
