JAKARTA - The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has emerged as the most potential vice presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 General Election.

Populi Center Research Director Usep S Achyar assessed that this happened because Erick Thohir was experienced in gathering votes throughout Indonesia because he had been the Head of the National Campaign Team (TKN) for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election.

This experience made Erick Thohir have supporters in various parts of Indonesia.

According to Achyar, the supporters of the number one person in the Ministry of SOEs are spread evenly throughout Indonesia.

"Every president prepares his successor, Erick Thohir is one of them as a close person to President Jokowi," said Achyar.

Therefore, Achyar agreed that the duo Ganjar Pranowo and Erick Thohir were said to be the sustainability camps of President Jokowi's government. In terms of electability, the two of them can also support each other to win the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
