Grogol Residents Asked To Actively Report To Police If They See Crowds That Trigger Criminal Action
In order to prevent disturbances to Kamtibmas, the Tanjung Duren Police conducted patrols to a number of points prone to brawls, as well as locations where teenagers gather who have the potential to commit crimes at night.
Tanjung Duren Police Chief Kompol Muharam Wibisono said his party would involve the RW Police, which is an innovation program initiated by the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran to improve services and to be closer to the community.
"This is the point to hear, record, and find solutions to problems that exist in society," said Muharam during a casual conversation with VOI, Tuesday night, March 21.
Muharam explained, for the Grogol area, West Jakarta, the vulnerability point is in the Flood Canal Embankment, precisely at the Rt.010/010 Suspension Bridge. According to him, at night a group of teenagers from outside the area often arrives.
Therefore, his party will identify problems and make efforts related to these problems by coordinating with related parties in the surrounding environment.
"We will take firm action if a teenager finds a brawl or unrest in the area. With the cooperation between the police, especially the RW Police and all elements of the community, the location will no longer be a place of brawl", he said.
Muharram also asked his personnel to routinely carry out mobile patrols to points prone to brawls to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community.
"Let's work together to create a conducive situation. The public is asked not to hesitate to report if they know of a motorcycle gang action, brawls, motor vehicle theft and other criminal acts, to immediately report to the Tanjung Duren Police," he concluded.
