The Search For Sriwijaya Air On The Fifth Day Is Rotated To Maintain The Physical Condition Of The Diving Team

JAKARTA - Entering the fifth day of the search for the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft, Basarnas Operations Director Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Rasman admitted that the physical condition of the SAR team at the search location would be better guarded.

Because, said Rasman, this team had been in the middle of the sea for days. After passing the fourth day of searching, the team members' physique, especially the diving team, needed to be restored.

"We always monitor the condition of the team. We only hope that our team in the field can be maintained. After 4 days, of course a physical condition needs recovery," said Rasman at the JICT II Integrated Command Post, North Jakarta, Wednesday, 13 January.

To maintain the physical condition of the SAR team members consisting of the ranks of Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and volunteers, there are arrangements for diving turns. Teams who have dived will be invited to rest.

"We will divide or regulate the rhythm so that those who have been diving for a long time, of course, will take turns seeing the conditions concerned," said Rasman.

Furthermore, Rasman said that the search force for Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 on the fifth day involved 3,300 joint personnel, both those involved in the field and other handling posts.

Then, there were 54 defense equipment ships that were deployed in the last known position (LKP) of the plane crash. Small marine vehicles such as ribs, searider, rubber boats and jetski kurleb were sent down by 20 pieces.

In the air line, there are 13 monitoring aircraft ready to be flown. While on the ground, there were 30 ambulances on standby at the JICT II Command Post to bring the findings related to the victim.

"Today's activity plan, in principle, is the same as the operational plan we carried out yesterday. Air and sea units will continue to carry out searches. Of course, the area will be wider because there may be debris or victims washed away," Rasman explained.
