Badanas Ensures Beef Stock Is Safe For Ramadan And Eid 2023

JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) ensures that beef stock is safe to meet needs during Ramadan 2023. As is known, before and during Ramadan demand for beef will increase.

"Child meat is in safe condition. As for beef from live cows, we are also mobilizing stock. If the stock in the cold storage owned by SOEs is also in an okay position. So until Eid, we have secured it," said Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi to reporters, written Tuesday, March 21.

In addition to beef, said Arief, the government will also meet domestic needs from imported frozen buffalo meat. A total of 18,000 tons will enter Indonesia in the near future.

"Later meat will come in a month around 18,000 tons," he said.

The buffalo meat that came was part of the task given to Bulog to import 100,000 tons of frozen buffalo.

Furthermore, Arief said the importation of frozen buffalo meat would increase domestic supply. Given the need for meat in Indonesia to trade 60,000 tons per month.

"Yes, it's goods in and out. For a month, we need approximately 60,000 tons, so the in-out must be regulated. Now, if 60,000 tons have received the SOE import quota, Bulog gets 100,000 tons of buffalo meat, ID Food gets 100,000 tons of beef. Please arrange it later," he said.
