BPJT Strives Not To Lay Off When The Contactless Toll Transaction System Is Implemented

JAKARTA - Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit targets no reduction in workers if later the contactless toll transaction system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) is ready to be implemented in Indonesia.

"Not even (can reduce workers). Now, the reduction is very small, because it is cashless," Danang told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, March 20.

According to Danang, changes to the cash payment system (cash) to non-cashless have led to a reduction in workers, so that efforts are made to implement the MLFF system later there will be no more reductions.

Because, continued Danang, later parties from Roatex (a contactless toll payment technology company from Hungary) will recruit workers who are currently employed by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) to become their workers, namely making observations in the field using mobile surveillance.

"Right now, there is Gantry, it is fitted with a camera, but not all like that. Later, in certain places the surveillance system does not use Gantry, but uses a car equipped with cameras. That's quite a lot of them (the number of workers)," he explained.

"So, the migration program from BUJT to Roatex and the migration from BUJT to other types of work are part of our work at MLFF," added Danang.

With this, Danang also strives not to reduce the number of workers in the future. "Yes, we plan (no layoffs) like that," he concluded.
