SEMARANG - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, hopes that the verdict handed down by the panel of judges to the Deputy Chairperson of the Tegal DPRD, Wasmad Edi Susilo in the case of a dangdutan crowd during the COVID-19 pandemic will be a warning to all parties.
"Hopefully this will be a warning to everyone, so that everyone can be disciplined, especially at this time in the context of the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities, hopefully all can obey because surely law enforcement officers through justisi operations will do the same thing," said Ganjar in Semarang as quoted by Antara. Not only for public officials, it is hoped that Susilo's case will also serve as a warning for all elements of society who must comply with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, Ganjar Pranowo gave his appreciation to law enforcement officials, including the police, prosecutors and courts, who handled the case and he appreciated the public for supporting efforts to tighten health protocols during the pandemic.
"There is no hatred though, but everyone just wants us to be equally obedient," he said.
Susilo was sentenced to six months in prison with a one-year probation and a fine of IDR 50 million (a subsidiary of three months in prison) by the Tegal District Court.
