There Have Been 12 Suspects In The Case Of Throwing A Group Of Ansor GP Pilgrims In Tulungagung
Trenggalek Police, East Java confirmed that they will continue the legal process for the case of throwing a group of pilgrims from GP Ansor Tulungagung on the Trenggalek-Ponorogo border route. Currently, investigators have named 12 people as suspects."Keep going. While the other five are adults.They are said to be members of a silat college which at the time of the incident intended to attack other university groups but was wrongly targeted.As a result of the throwing action on the Trenggalek-Ponorogo highway, Nglongsor Village, Tugu Trenggalek District, the participant on a pilgrimage from GP Ansor Tulungagung was injured as a result of the minibus being hit by a ravine.The incident sparked tensions over the security situation in public order in Trenggalek. Banser and GP Ansor Tulungagung protested and had twice protested to the Trenggalek Police Headquarters to demand justice.The last protest was carried out on Saturday (18/3) at the Trenggalek Police Headquarters yard. Crowds of protesters from GP Ansor and Banser Tulungagung shouted protest and questioned the legal process of the incident of throwing stones by youth groups in the jurisdiction of Trenggalek and injuring their brothers and sisters."We ask that the law be strictly enforced against the suspects in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," said Tulungagung Branch GP Ansor Chairman Mohammad Sukur.However, Sukur was reluctant to comment much when asked about the police's performance in handling the stone-throwing case.Currently, he continued, the police have named as many as 12 suspects involved in the attack."Because it has not yet reached the trial stage and there has been no decision, we have not been able to convey our satisfaction with this case. We will know after the judge's decision later," he said.Outside of the legal process, Sukur said that the families of the victims and the perpetrators had carried out a mediation process.The result was agreed upon by the perpetrator's family to provide compensation of Rp. 218 million. However, until due, the perpetrator's family only paid around Rp. 70 million.The victim's family will give a peace letter as a consideration of the judge's decision if the obligation has been fulfilled."But if it is not paid up to the judge's decision, then LBH Ansor Tulungagung and LBH Ansor Trenggalek will take this case to civil law," he said.
