After Beating Kamaru Usman For The Second Time, Leon Edwards Will Face This Fighter In July 2023
JAKARTA - Leon Edwards could not relax long after his win over Kamaru Usman at the UFC 286 in London last weekend. He already had to face his next fight.
UFC president Dana White has announced Leon Edwards will again defend his title. But this time he will fight Colby Covington.
"That's a reasonable fight, Colby comes here, loses weight and does everything to be here for this fight," White was quoted as saying by The Sun.
"He deserves to fight. Not to mention he is the second or third best fighter in the world," he continued.

Covington is on the home side to witness Edwards' win over Usman's fierce rivals. In fact, he is rumored to be a reserve fighter for UFC 286's main event.
"I came and reduced 18 pounds, didn't cry and made excuses. I'm as professional as these people because I'm still ready to fight," he continued.
Shortly after that boast, Covington tweeted, "See you in July @Leon_edwardsmma."
Leon Edwards beat Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 at the O2 Arena, London, England, Sunday, March 19, morning WIB. Edwards scored 48-46, 48-46, and 47-47.
With this result, the British fighter who was born in Jamaica successfully defended the UFC welterweight title.
