Moncor Business Potential, Vice President Ma'ruf Urges Qatar To Dare To Invest In The Halal Industry Sector
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin offered the Qatari government to invest in the halal industry sector which is currently being developed by the Indonesian government.
Vice President Ma'ruf's offer was delivered directly to the Ambassador of Qatar to Indonesia, Fawziya Edrees Salman Al-Sulaiti via video teleconference, in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 12.
"We, Indonesia, are now opening up investment opportunities from various countries and we have various special economic zones, we are even developing the halal industry in Indonesia. Therefore, we invite the Qatar government to invest in Indonesia and we are very open," said Ma. Amin ruf reported by Antara.
The halal industry has great potential in the world market. This is of course supported by the qualified resources belonging to Indonesia.
"The potential of the halal industry in Indonesia is very large. So, at the same time we want to invite to strengthen relations and economic and investment cooperation," he said.
Ambassador Fawziya responded positively to Vice President Ma'ruf's offer to invest in Indonesia. Fawziya said his party would continue the invitation to the Qatar government so that it could be followed up.
"Everything that is offered, we will accept everything to be followed up, and we at the embassy will forward it to the Qatari government so that it can accelerate," said Fawziya.
The Indonesian government is optimistic that it can become the largest producer of halal products in the world. This optimism is reinforced by an increase in the consumption of world halal products which continues to increase every year.
The global market demand for halal products in 2018 was recorded at US $ 2.2 trillion, and this figure is predicted to increase to US $ 3.2 trillion in 2024.
In addition, the world's Muslim population is also predicted to reach 2.2 billion people by 2030, so that it will strengthen the increase in the global halal market industry.
This potential, said Vice President Ma'ruf, must be utilized by Indonesia to meet the needs of the global market through the export of halal products.
