Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Black Box Found

JAKARTA - Black box or black box of Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft has been found this afternoon. The black box was found by the Indonesian Navy diver team.

The Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 black box was found in the vicinity of Laki-Pulau Lancang, Kepulauan Seribu, DKI Jakarta, on Tuesday around 16.20 WIB.

Currently, the black box will arrive at the JICT II Integrated Command Post, North Jakarta. TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi are preparing to announce the discovery of the black box.

The black box was put into a box filled with brownish water, then taken by Sea Rider by several divers, including Kopaska and Dislambair.

The black box was carried by the Special Task Force for SAR Operations on Sriwijaya Air, First Admiral Yayan Sofyan and the Operations Director of Puskopaska Colonel Laut (P) Johan Wahyudi.

The black box is an important tool to identify the causes of a crash. The Black Box installed on the aircraft is divided into two parts, namely the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (VCR).

FDR is responsible for storing flight parameters for 25 hours before being overwritten with a new record. This information includes speed, altitude, time, and direction of the aircraft.

A VCR keeps a conversation between the pilot and his crew or the control tower. The recording period is two hours, after which it will continue to re-record itself and overwrite the previous data.

For information, the crash of a Sriwijaya Air plane with registration number PK-CLC SJ182 on the Jakarta-Pontianak route started with lost contact on Saturday, January 9, at 14:40 WIB. Then, it was confirmed that the plane crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands, precisely between Lancang Island and Male Island.

Flightradar data shows that the aircraft stalled before taking a sharp dive. Stall is one of the flight malfunctions. Stall prone to occur early in the departure: starting from takeoff, gaining altitude, to maneuvers that usually rotate.

Sriwijaya Air admitted that his plane was in good health and had no problems before taking off. There is indeed a delay or delay that occurs for 30 minutes before the flight, it occurs due to bad weather on the flight route to be traversed.
