PLN Restores 100 Percent Of Pascalongsor Electricity In Natuna's Serasan
PT PLN (Persero) managed to restore 100 percent of the electricity system in areas affected by landslides on Serasan Natuna Island, Riau, which occurred on March 6.
It was recorded that 16 PLN distribution substations and 2,077 customers previously affected by landslides had been successfully recovered.
General Manager of PLN Riau and Riau Islands Distribution Main Unit Agung Murdifi confirmed that since March 15, 2023, the electricity supply for 2,077 customers in Natuna has returned to normal.
"The route to the location is very difficult and cut off, so it takes time to restore electricity. However, with the collaboration of various parties, we managed to distribute electricity back to the entire community," Agung said in his official statement, Friday, March 17.
Agung said that the recovery of electricity in Serasan was thanks to the cooperation between PLN and the local government, TNI and Polri.
According to him, the Serasan electricity system is very sufficient with a capacity of 1200 Kilo Watt (KW) and a peak load of 620 KW.
"PLN also ensures the reliability of electricity supply at several evacuation points by alerting mobile generators and other supporting equipment in the camp. evacuation," he said.
In addition to restoring the electricity network, PLN has also distributed aid in the form of 550 food packages and other basic needs. The assistance is distributed by PLN through the PLN Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), the Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM) and the Collaboration Program with PLN Batam.
Meanwhile, Natuna Regent Wan Siswandi expressed his appreciation to PLN for moving quickly in recovery, so that the electricity returned to power.
"From the start, we encouraged the joint team in the field to pave the way, so that electric poles can be installed and electricity restoration can be installed immediately. Alhamdulillah, today the electricity is back on, we hope, with electricity on, activities at the post can be maximized and people who are not affected who live in the evacuation can return home because the electricity is on," he said.
A sense of gratitude was also conveyed by the East Serasan Sub-district Head, Nazaruddin, because PLN was very responsive in restoring electricity to the community.
This, he said, really helped ease the burden on people who were victims of landslides.
"After the landslide, the need for electricity in Serasan is very urgent. We would like to thank PLN. For the sake of the community, PLN is working hard to restore electricity," he concluded.
