COVID-19 Update Per January 12: 10,047 New Cases, 302 People Died

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. The total cumulative cases totaled 846,767 people, meanwhile, new positive cases per day reached 10,047 people.

The confirmed positive cases who died increased by 302 people and a total of 24,645 people. Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today has increased by 7,068 people, so that a total of 695,807 people have recovered.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 2,669 new cases and a total of 211,252. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, West Java 1,540 new cases with a total of 100,585 cases. Central Java 1,323 new cases with a total of 94,087 cases. East Java 844 new cases with a total of 94,249 cases. Then, South Sulawesi has 637 new cases and a total of 37,766 cases, and Bali 350 new cases with a total of 19,835 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,657 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1,305 recovered cases, West Java 970 cases, East Java 715 cases, South Sulawesi 594 cases, East Kalimantan 337 cases, DI Yogyakarta 150 cases and Bali 136 cases.

It was also reported that one province reported zero new cases, namely Maluku. Then there are two provinces that reported an increase in cases under 30 as of today. The provinces are North Maluku with 23 cases and Bengkulu with 27 cases.

"The highest number of deaths was in Central Java Province with 99 people. Then East Java with 65 people, DKI Jakarta with 34 people and West Java with 15 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Tuesday, January 12.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,991,379. In detail, 7,859,160 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 132,219 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

Then, the cumulative positivity rate or number of people examined in Indonesia reached 15.9 percent.

"The number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases is 54,827 people. Currently, 510 regencies / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases," he said.
