Indramayu Police Confiscate 200 Bags Of Subsidized Fertilizer And Arrest 2 Smugglers

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indramayu Police, West Java (West Java) has arrested 2 perpetrators of smuggling of subsidized NPK fertilizers. According to the road certificate, this type of fertilizer should have been circulated outside the region, but by the actors it was circulated in Indramayu.

"This subsidized fertilizer according to the travel document should not be circulated in the Indramayu area," said Indramayu Police Chief, AKBP Hafidh Susilo Herlambang, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 12.

The two suspects arrested were SJR alias JJ (47), a resident of Bangodua District, Indramayu Regency, and BG (42), a resident of Tukdana District, Indramayu Regency.

Hafidh explained, the disclosure of the case of smuggling of subsidized fertilizers began with the patrol of members of the Satreskrim Polres Indramayu.

During the patrol, the officer received information on the activity of loading and unloading subsidized fertilizers in Mekarsari Village, Tukdana District, Indramayu Regency.

"Our members immediately carried out an investigation at the scene of the case and checked the road documents for the truck containing fertilizers which apparently were not intended for distribution in Indramayu," he said again.

From the information obtained by the Police, it is planned that the subsidized fertilizer will be sold for IDR 330 thousand per quintal in Indramayu Regency, whereas, the highest retail price (HET) of subsidized NPK fertilizer is IDR 230 thousand per quintal.

He added that the evidence confiscated were in the form of 200 sacks of NPK subsidized fertilizer each of 50 kilograms, a T 9154 E truck along with a vehicle registration and ignition key, as well as a fertilizer distributor passport.

"The perpetrators face a maximum prison sentence of 5 years and we are also still investigating this case," he said
