Jokowi's Task To Minister Of Transportation Budi: Speed Up The Search For Bodies Of Victims And Black Boxes
JAKARTA - The Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi received an order from President Joko Widodo to coordinate quickly in the search for passengers, and the black box of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane that crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.
Budi Karya said that this order was conveyed by President Jokowi when he reported the latest conditions after the incident that occurred on Saturday, January 9.
"The president ordered me to quickly coordinate the search process for the victim's body and also speed up the search process from the black box," Budi said in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, January 12.
Furthermore, to carry out Jokowi's orders, Budi will come to the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT). The aim is to monitor and ensure that the search for the unfortunate passengers and aircraft has been carried out properly.
"This afternoon I will be asked to go to Tanjung Priok to make sure what is ordered is carried out properly," he said.
Furthermore, at the meeting, President Jokowi also asked that this incident lead to an increase in the quality of public transportation, especially air transportation.
"Finally, the President commissioned us to make an improvement and the process of finding this was an expensive, but good lesson, and was instructed not to repeat it.
"Together with the TNI, Polri, the Commander in Chief and also the Chief of Police, Pangdam, KSAL, Basarnas, as well as the NTSC, Police Hospital, God willing, will carry out this presidential order well and we will carry it out," he said.
