The Robber Who Stabbed The Kiosk Owner In Jayawijaya Was Successfully Secured By The Police

JAKARTA - Police personnel of the Jayawijaya Resort, Papua, arrested a stabbing perpetrator with the initials JE (24), which resulted in the victim suffering stab wounds to his left arm, leg and a cut in the midriff.

The Head of Jayawijaya Police, AKBP Dominggus Rumaropen, said that the theft, which was accompanied by the stabbing, took place on January 12 at around 03:23 WIT.

"One perpetrator has been arrested at the Wamena Kota Police, while the victim has been treated at the Wamena Regional Hospital. The number of perpetrators is two and is currently in pursuit," said Dominggus in Wamena, the capital of Jayawijaya Regency, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 12.

The stabbing that occurred at the Jibama Market resulted in the victim named Aswar (23) having to undergo medical treatment. The perpetrator is undergoing a legal process for his actions.

Based on the chronology of the stabbing received from the police, the two perpetrators were robbing a kiosk not far from the victim's residence.

The victim, who heard the noise from inside the kiosk, immediately screamed and tried to arrest the perpetrator but the perpetrator stabbed the victim.

"A witness immediately woke up other residents by hitting an electric pole, then the residents came to Aswar's brother who was already lying on the ground. The residents kept the perpetrators secure by tying them with ropes so they would not run away," he said.

The police chief appealed to the public to work together to realize the Jayawijaya Community Service to remain conducive without being easily provoked, not carrying sharp weapons around.

"Including not selling or consuming liquor because we will take firm action," he said.
