Drummer Koes Brothers, Nomo Koeswoyo Dies
JAKARTA - Sad news enveloped the world of Indonesian music. One of the Koes Brothers personnel, Nomo Koeswoyo passed away Wednesday, March 15. The legendary drummer of the band died at the age of 85.
Nomo reportedly died at around 20.30 WIB, at his residence on Jalan Soekarno Hattta, Magelang, Central Java.
The sad news of the death of Nomo Koeswoyo was also conveyed by the Chairman of PWI Simufil, Irish Riswoyo. Irish admitted that he knew the figure of Nomo Koeswoyo closely.
"I always go to his house every Lebaran. Last year I didn't have time. He's a good person," said Irish when contacted.
This sad news was also confirmed by musician Damon Koeswoyo, the nephew of Nomo Koeswoyo himself. According to him, the body was being dispatched to Jakarta.
Arriving in Jakarta, the body will be buried at the funeral home, at the Chicha Koeswoyo residence on Jalan Agricultural I No. 5, Lebak Bulus number, South Jakarta.
The body of the late Koes Plus personnel will be buried at the Jeruk Purut TPU, South Jakarta.
