The Minister Of Transportation Requests Compensation For The Identified Family Of Sriwijaya Air Victims Of SJ1-82 To Be Immediately Given

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi requested that Jasa Raharja be able to immediately provide compensation to the identified family of Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 passengers, namely Okky Bisma.

He conveyed this when he visited the antemortem post at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital which was opened to collect data from the families of passengers.

"Jasa Raharja, I ask for the process of providing insurance (red) quickly. At 10:00 am we will be given compensation to the stewards who have been identified," Budi told reporters at Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Tuesday, January 12.

He also expressed his sorrow for the family of the plane passengers that crashed around the waters of the Thousand Islands.

"On this occasion, first, I would like to convey my sorrow for the blessings of Allah from our beloved brothers and sisters," he said.

"Second, the appreciation of the National Police Hospital which is systematically active in preparing the identification process which I think is professional. So the hope is that the President will carry out the service, God willing, can be run well," he added.

Meanwhile, regarding compensation, Jasa Raharja President Director Budi Rahardjo said that his party had provided compensation to a family of victims who had been identified.

"We have handed over compensation to the heirs of the victims who have been identified by the Police Hospital," he said.

Furthermore, Budi said that his party would continue to wait at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital. So that if any of the passengers on the unlucky plane are identified again, compensation can be immediately given to the family left behind.

"We are on standby, if there is a DVI announcement, we will immediately give compensation," he said.

Previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route had lost contact shortly after taking off from Soekarno Hatta Airport on Saturday, January 9, 2020. News of the plane's lost contact was followed by certainty that the plane crashed near Male Island .

In total, the plane carried 62 people including 12 crew members and 50 passengers consisting of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.

Of the dozens of body bags that entered the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, the Police DVI Team has succeeded in identifying a passenger on behalf of Okky Bisma who is a crew or flight attendant of the Sriwijaya SJ-182 aircraft.

This identification was successfully carried out through fingerprints found on Okky's right hand which matched his identity card (KTP).
