SKK Migas: Big Industry Starting To Enter Tarakan Needs Electricity Supply
JAKARTA - Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) in Kalimantan and Sulawesi Azhari Idris said large industries that began to enter Tarakan, North Kalimantan, needed energy supply, especially electricity.
"This Kaltara still has great oil and gas reserves potential," said Azhari in Tarakan, Tuesday, March 14 evening during a gathering between local journalists and SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi with the Supervisory Commission (Komwas) and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) in the North Kalimantan (Kaltara) region.
This was conveyed from the results of a meeting with the Mayor of Tarakan, Khairul a few days earlier.
"The presence of KKKS who want to explore and exploit oil and gas in this area requires the support of many parties to run smoothly to ensure that gas supply needs for PLN can continue to be provided and contribute to supporting the economy and Tarakan development plans," said Azhari, as quoted by Antara.
He added that Kalimantan and Sulawesi still contributed greatly to the national oil and gas sector. Kalimantan and Sulawesi crude oil lifting contributed 11 percent and natural gas 30 percent of national oil and gas lifting. This year, exploration activities are increasingly aggressive in finding new oil reserves, including in Kaltara.
On the other hand, Hulu Migas also contributes to providing benefits to the regions, including through oil and gas (DBH) revenue sharing funds, regional taxes and levies, empowerment of local labor, gas supply for gas and social activities through Community Development Programs (PPM) in the fields of Health, Education and others.
"Once again we need the support of all parties including the media, in providing the right information for the people in Tarakan," he said.
In a meeting with stakeholders and journalists in Tarakan, the Expert Staff of the SKK Migas Supervisory Commission for Legal Affairs Inspector General (Ret.) M. Adnas conveyed that Komwas' task was to supervise the performance of SKK Migas and provide direction to this institution.
Donating the fruits of the idea of how the upstream oil and gas industry could run smoothly in order to contribute foreign exchange to the country.
Hulu Migas merupakan kontributor Pendapatan Negara terbesar kedua setelah Pajak. Hulu Migas merupakan kegiatan negara untuk memenuhi kebutuhan negara," kata Adnas
The high achievement of oil and gas lifting will contribute to the greater state revenue. However, the SKK Migas institution cannot run alone, this institution must synergize with many parties.
Adnas admitted that many people and stakeholders in the regions do not yet understand the existence of upstream oil and gas activities, which should be a strategic project for the state.
"The existence of upstream oil and gas activities in Kalsul is very significant for state revenue, so it must get support from many parties," he said.
Adnas added that the search for oil and gas energy sources cannot run alone by SKK Migas, requires support from various parties. Currently, upstream oil and gas business activities have many challenges in the fields of social, environmental and legal aspects.
"Social and legal conflict should not stop upstream oil and gas activities," he said.
So that the strategic role of the media is needed to provide precise understanding and information to the wider community.
"It is necessary to open up discussion rooms with the media, so that the right information can be conveyed," said Adnas.
