10 Flood Points In East Jakarta Firefighters Handling

A total of 10 points in East Jakarta were flooded. The flood inundation was caused by a number of factors, ranging from overflowing rivers, clogged waterway drainage to heavy rains since Tuesday night.

The flood inundation as high as 10 cm is located on Jalan Jengko, RT 03/10, Kebon Pala Village, Makasar District. Water conditions also enter residential areas around the location.

In addition, floods also hit the Hek and Pool PPD areas, Kampung Tengah Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta. The water level is as high as 10 cm due to heavy rains. The puddle began to occur since Wednesday, March 15, morning at around 06.15 WIB.

Furthermore, the Molek river located in Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta was also overflowed due to heavy rains resulting in flood inundation. The water level reaches 50 cm.

Then, floods also hit Jalan Kebon Pala 2, Rt 13/04 and RT 11/05, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District. The water level reaches 30 cm due to heavy rains. The water has also entered residential areas since around 06.25 WIB and the water discharge continues to increase.

"A water puddle with a height of 10 cm on Jalan Pusdiklat Depnaker, Makasar Village, Makasar District has also entered residential areas. The cause of the inundation is heavy rain," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Wednesday, March 15.

Furthermore, inundation also occurred on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Ciliwung, Tong Tek, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District due to heavy rains.

Furthermore, inundation hit the area of Jalan Toga Asri IV, Ciracas District. Inundation is also found at Jembatan Merah, Cipinang Melayu Village, Kecaman Makasar.

"Inundation is also found in the Cililitan area, Kramat Jati. From all locations where inundation occurs, on average it is caused by heavy rain," he said.

Until now, officers are still handling water drain using portable pumps at each point where the flood is located.
