Malaysia Records Natural Rubber Production Lesu In January
JAKARTA - Malaysia noted that the decline in natural rubber production fell 3.6 percent to 29,451 tons in January. Where, in December 2022 it was 30,556 tons.
citing Antara, Wednesday, March 15, the year-on-year comparison shows that natural rubber production fell 39.3 percent from 48,546 tonnes in January last year, the Malaysian Department of Statistics (DoSM) said in a statement.
According to DoSM, Malaysia's natural rubber exports reached 40,867 tons in January, down 16.3 percent compared to 48,797 tons in December 2022.
China remains the main goal of natural rubber exports which accounted for 41.2 percent of total exports in January, followed by Turkey (5.4 percent), Germany (5.1 percent), the United States (3.6 percent) and Brazil (2.7 percent).
Export performance is contributed by natural rubber-based products such as gloves, tires, inner tires, rubber threads and condoms.

Meanwhile, the total stock of natural rubber in January fell 3.4 percent to 194,553 tons compared to 201,360 tons in December 2022.
