Parasite Prints History At The 2020 Oscars
JAKARTA - The Oscar awards ceremony was over. At this year's event, many surprises came from the winners. But besides that, there are several names that have been predicted to bring home the Oscar, one of which is Bong Joon Ho's Parasite.
Since the start of the announcement of the nominations, the film has been said to be a tough contender for the 1917 film by Sam Mendes. There is nothing wrong, because both of them have interesting stories throughout the rolling film. However, no one expected Parasite to bring home 4 trophies, namely Original Screenplay, International Feature Film, Directing, and Picture.
The Parasite team, which also brought their complete cast for the first time, made them the first foreign language film to win Best Film beating 1917 which had attracted attention. Plus several times Bong Joon Ho gave short speeches after receiving the trophy. One thing that was interesting when he received the Best Directing trophy.

It says; "Thank you. After winning Best International Feature, I think I'm done and ready to relax. Thank you very much. When I was young and studying cinema, a word was engraved into my heart, namely 'The most personal is the most creative. "The quote is from Martin Scorsese. When I was in school, I studied Martin Scorsese films," said Jooh Ho.
"Just being nominated is a huge honor. I never thought I would win. When people in the United States were unfamiliar with my films, Quentin (Tarantino) always put my film on his list. He's here, thank you very much. Quentin, I love you. And Todd (Philips) and Sam (Mendes), the great directors I admire. If The Academy allows, I want to get the Texas Chainsaw, take the trophy to five and share with all of you. Thank you. I'll drink until tomorrow morning, thank you. "

Martin Scorcese, who saw this moment, was moved by Bong Joon Ho's words. Scorcese is the director of The Irishman who doesn't bring home any trophies, but that doesn't detract from the fact The Irishman is a great film.
