IPW Chairman Policed Back Aspri Wamenkumham Regarding Defamation
JAKARTA - Chairman of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso was reported back by the Personal Assistant (aspri) Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, Yogi Ari Rukmana, to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. The report relates to allegations of defamation.
"I responded tonight to report him on suspicion of defamation," Yogi told reporters, Wednesday, March 15 in the morning.
The reason behind the report was because Sugeng's statement that he was suspected of receiving gratuities amounting to Rp7 billion was a mere accusation. Thus, it has tarnished his good name.
"Almost everything that was stated by Mr. STS on his charges against me was not true at all," said Yogi.
In fact, Yogi seemed to challenge Sugeng to prove his statement. Especially in the ongoing legal process.
"Please prove that he can prove that I can also prove that, right. Later let the legal process answer everything who is right who is wrong," said Yogi.
The report has been received by Bareskim Polri. This is because Yogi has pocketed a police report receipt letter with the number STTL/082/2023/BARESKRIM.
Meanwhile, the name Yogi Ari Rukmana was dragged down when Sugeng made a complaint about alleged gratification at the KPK.
Initially, Sugeng complained about the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej. However, the complaint stated that there were the initials YAR and YAM which were aspri from Edward.
Both were referred to as recipients of Rp7 billion in funds for the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights.
