BPJS Employment Confirms Data Obtained By Bjorka Is Not Theirs!

JAKARTA - The Employment Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) is currently conducting an investigation regarding the alleged data leak by hacker Bjorka.

"Regarding information about the hacking of BPJS Employment data, we are currently coordinating and investigating details that also involve several parties," said Deputy for Communications at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Oni Marbun to VOI, Tuesday, March 14.

"BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is currently working with BSSN and Kominfo to conduct an investigation," he added.

Based on an example of the data distributed, Oni admitted that his party was verifying the validity of the data which was claimed to be data for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants.

However, so far the provisional suspicion from the investigation process stated that the data obtained by Bjorka did not come from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

"From the ongoing investigation process, it is suspected that the data leak is not from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan," said Oni.

Even so, Oni realized, if this hack was proven, his party would take responsibility and strengthen security on their system.

"We will also take preventive steps to strengthen information technology security systems against potential data disruptions by increasing system protection and resilience," said Oni.

"As a form of our responsibility as participant data managers, we are following up on this news seriously. We will report developments regarding this incident to the public regularly," he added.

Previously, the phenomenal hacker claimed another victim after months of disappearance, which is none other than BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

In Bjorka's upload at the Breached forum on Sunday, March 12 yesterday, he showed that he had obtained 19,564,922 data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan members consisting of a Population Identification Number (NIK), name, email, cell phone number, address, place of birth date, gender, occupation, place of work and others.

In addition, Bjorka also deliberately provided 100,000 data from Aceh Province as a free sample. However, the rest he sold 10,000 US dollars equivalent to Rp153 million and only received payments in the form of Bitcoin.
