Reviewing The ASEAN Summit Facility In Labuan Bajo, Jokowi: Only A Little Touch

NTT - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reviewed a number of facilities for the implementation of the ASEAN Summit (KTT) which is planned to be held on 9-11 May 2023.

"We want to ensure preparations for the ASEAN Summit in May. I saw that several'venues' were all ready, only a little touch," said President Jokowi in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Tuesday, March 14, quoted by Antara.

President Jokowi said another important thing was also to promote Labuhan Bajo as a super priority destination.

"The most important thing is that later we also want to promote Labuhan Bajo as a super priority destination in Golo Mori. We'll see that the Labuhan Bajo is also good. I think everything is looking right and left, everything is good and beautiful," added the President.

The President also mentioned that the 10 ASEAN countries will be at the ASEAN Summit later.

"Yes, all ASEAN members are present," said Jokowi.

Previously, the President had also inaugurated the Labuan Bajo-Golo Mori Access Road, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province to encourage the development of Labuan Bajo as a super priority tourist destination.

"This morning we see that the road from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori has been completed. This will improve connectivity in order for us to develop Labuan Bajo as a super priority tourist destination," said President Joko Widodo at the location of the Labuan Bajo - Golo Mori KM 16.

Not only supporting the development of Labuan Bajo, the President also said that the road connecting Labuan Bajo and Golo Mori could support the development of the surrounding area. The 25 kilometer access road was built by spending a budget of IDR 481 billion.

"The area between Labuan Bajo and Golo Mori will be able to develop well," added the President.

In a separate statement, the Head of the X NTT National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN), Agustinus Junianto, explained that along the access road several bridges with a total length of 175 meters were also built.

"In the construction of this road, there is a bridge that we built along 175 meters, there are four bridges, namely the Naganae Bridge, the Wae Mburak Bridge, the Wae Kenari Bridge, and also the Soknar Bridge," he explained.

Furthermore, Agustinus considered that the construction of the access road could cut the travel time from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori.

"Previously, from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori, we took approximately two to three hours, now it's only 30 minutes," added Agustinus.

The construction of Labuan Bajo - Golo Mori Street is divided into 5 segments, namely Labuan Bajo - Sp Nanis with a length of 6.15 km, Sp Nalis - Sp Kenari with a length of 6.50 km, Sp Kenari - Warloka with a length of 5.10 km, Warloka - Tanamori with a length of 4.25 km and an increase in the road to Golo Mori Village along 3 km.

Also accompanying the President at the inauguration were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, East Nusa Tenggara Governor Viktor Laiskodat, and West Manggarai Regent Edistasius Endi.
