Remembering Fadly Satrianto, Co-Pilot Of Sriwijaya Air: Had A Dream Of Flying Since He Was A Child
JAKARTA - His name is Fadly Satrianto, Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Co-Pilot who lost contact around the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Saturday, January 9.
Fadli is the youngest son of Sumarzen Marzuki and Ninik Andriyani. He underwent flight school after graduating from the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, Surabaya.
Fadly's father, Sumarzen Marzuki said that his son had dreamed of his son to become a pilot for a long time.
"It's been since childhood," said Sumarzen Marzuki as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 11.
For the past three years, after graduating from a series of aviation schools, Fadly has been a Co-Pilot for Nam Air, a subsidiary of Sriwijaya Air.
Fadly last returned home in Surabaya about two weeks ago. Since becoming a Co-Pilot, he rarely returns because of work that requires him to stay in good shape.
"He mostly lives in hotels. At home, he just stops by. Moreover, as a Co-Pilot, he has to be in prime condition. If he lives at home, he is afraid to wake up late. Meanwhile, his job requires that he be on the plane at least four hours before flying," he said.
In the morning, before the plane reportedly lost contact, Fadli called his mother and said goodbye. Sumarzen Marzuki said, his son said that he was transferred to Sriwijaya.
"The plan is that after arriving in Pontianak, he and the Nam Air crew who are also on the Sriwijaya Air plane will have their own flight schedule. Where did he not say," said Sumarzen.
