Minister Of Health Will Meet The National Police Chief And TNI Commander To Investigate Unnatural Deaths Of Mawartih Doctors In Nabire Papua
MAKASSAR - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked the TNI-Polri to investigate the alleged unnatural death of lung specialist Mawartih Susanty at her official residence in the Nabire Hospital, Central Papua, Thursday, March 9.
The Minister of Health immediately met with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono to discuss the next steps in handling the doctor's death case.
"Including how public health in Papua is carried out in a fair and equitable manner and must be accompanied by good security guarantees for health workers, as well as the doctor," said the Minister of Health while visiting the funeral home, Jalan Manuruki II, Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), Monday, March 13, was confiscated by Antara.
Regarding the autopsy results of the body of Doctor Mawartih, who allegedly died unnaturally because of his foamy mouth and had bruises on his body, allegedly due to violence, the Minister of Health said that the autopsy results had been taken, but there were still further examination stages in the laboratory.
"I have taken the autopsy results, this is still waiting for some more lab results later. I think it is the police's authority to be able to announce it. However, my guarantee is that this will be opened transparently because it is also requested by the family," he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Papuan Lung Doctors Association, dr. Hendra Sihombing, Sp.P., added that there were irregularities in the victim's death at the time of the incident.
"So, we are very concerned about the incident. From the report there is an irregularity. We are still waiting for the official autopsy results from the police. We hope that the post-mortem will be completed soon so that the next steps can be carried out and run well," he said.
According to reports received, said Hendra, the victim was found in a foamy mouth condition and there were bruises on his body. The family said that on the back of the back of the victim's body the victim was blue and on the neck, and the ribs were broken.
"We are still waiting for the official results from the police autopsy. As chairman, I hope that law enforcement officials will immediately resolve this case with a bright spot for the best settlement and the perpetrators will be arrested immediately, processed according to applicable law," said Hendra.
After Minister of Health Budi Gunadi and his entourage visited the funeral home, the family then buried the victim at the Pamaikang Public Cemetery (TPU), Makassar.
