Develop Waskita Case, AGO Suspects Winner Regulation Of Japek II Toll Auction

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) suspects that there was an unlawful act in the form of conspiracy in regulating the winner of the auction in the construction work of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road with a contract value of Rp. 13 trillion.

"This Japek Toll Road has a contract value of approximately Rp. 13 trillion. Investigators have raised this case to the general investigation process, and so far, investigators have examined approximately 15 witnesses," said Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum Kejagung) Ketut Sumedana in Jakarta, Monday, March 13, quoted by Antara.

Ketut Sumedana explained that his party had found sufficient evidence to increase this case into a general investigation.

Regarding state losses, Ketut Sumedana said that the Attorney General's Office was still unable to confirm because until now, the case related to the construction of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road is still under general investigation.

On this occasion, the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office Kuntadi said this case was a development of the Waskita case.

"And the 2016 period," he said.

The Investigative Team has upgraded the status of investigations into cases of alleged corruption in the construction work (design and build) of the Cikampek II Toll Road Elevated Cikunir to West Karawang sections including on/off ramps at the Cikunir and West Karawang Interchange, with a contract value of Rp. 13,530,786,800,000.

In the implementation of the procurement, it is suspected that there was an unlawful act in the form of a conspiracy in regulating the winner of the auction that benefited certain parties, so that the act was indicated to be detrimental to state finances.
