Police Hospital Immediately Hand Over The Body Of Okky Bisma Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Passenger

JAKARTA - After successfully identifying the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 passenger on behalf of Okky Bisma, the Kramat Jati Police Hospital will immediately hand it over to the family.

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartomo, said there was still a process to be done. However, the process was not explained before Okky Bisma's body was handed over to the family.

"We have a process, what is clear is that the families of the victims already know about it all. We have informed them that while the process is running we will hand them over to the families," Rusdi told reporters at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Monday, January 11.

"As soon as possible (the bodies are handed over to the family, red)," he added.

The process of identifying Okky Bisma's body parts is carried out based on the data from the fingerprints on the electronic identity card or e-KTP.

The identification process began with the manifest received by Sriwijaya Air. From this manifest, the DVI Team then got an e-KTP from the Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs and subsequently, they carried out fingerprint scanning using a tool.

Previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route had lost contact in the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng on Saturday, January 9, 2020. In total, the plane carried 62 people including 12 crew members and 50 passengers. The 50 passengers consisted of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.
