Not Playing Games, Former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou Will Meet Anthony Joshua Or Deontay Wilder
JAKARTA - Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou has revealed shocking news. He confessed in talks to fight Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder after leaving the UFC.
The heavyweight star had previously failed to approve a new contract with the UFC and left the event. After that, he expressed his desire to try out the world of boxing.
It also wanted to be realized by the 36-year-old man. He told ESPN, "My next step is boxing.
"I want to have a boxing match first, and then maybe return to MMA because I still enjoy MMA. I want to do some fights in boxing," he continued.
He stressed that he had held talks with promoter Joshua Eddie Hearn and Wilder's team. The fighter hopes to announce the date and location of the potential fight in a month or two.
"It took a little longer than I expected but it will come. Big things come over time," Ngannou said.
"I'm considering everyone. I talked to Eddie Hearn about Anthony Joshua, I don't know what's going to happen."
"The one we talk to the most is Deontay Wilder's team. We've made some exchanges, basically reaching some kind of verbal agreement," he concluded.
In fact, reportedly, Wilder offered to face Ngannou in the ring and cage as part of a two-fight deal. Meanwhile, Hearn has expressed interest in bringing Joshua with Ngannou in future crossover fights.
