Okky Bisma, One Passenger Of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 Successfully Identified Through Fingerprints

JAKARTA - The National Police's DVI team managed to identify one passenger on the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane that crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands on Saturday, January 9.

Police Public Relations Division Karopenmas, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said the passenger who was identified was Okky Bisma (29) who was one of the crew or flight attendant of the unlucky plane.

"The results of the reconciliation this afternoon the team can identify one of the accident victims on behalf of Okky Bisma. Here we can identify one victim who had an accident," Rusdi said in a press conference at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Monday, January 9.

In the press conference, the Head of the Inafis Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Hudi Suryanto, then explained the body part identified in the form of the victim's right hand. He said that his party could identify the pieces of the body from the victim's fingerprints.

"For the body bag we received, Pus Inafis identified what we got in the form of a body part in the form of a complete right hand and fingers that were still good and made it easier for us. When we identified we got an identity as presented by Karo Penmas," said Hudi.

As previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route lost contact in the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng on Saturday, January 9, 2020.

Furthermore, the plane was confirmed to have crashed between Male Island and Lancang Island, Thousand Islands.

The plane carried 62 people, including 12 crew members and 50 passengers. The 50 passengers consisted of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.
