Perhutani Closes Ranca Upas Tourism Area Damaged By Trail Motor Activities
PT Perhutani West Java and Banten Regional Divisions temporarily closed the Rancaupas tourist area, Bandung Regency, West Java, after land damage due to trail motor activities.
Head of the Regional Division of Perhutani West Java and Banten Asep Dedi Mulyadi said this was a decision between PT Perhutani Alam Wisata and his party.
"As a form of our responsibility in efforts to recover damage to environmental facilities," Asep said in his statement in Bandung, West Java, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 11.
According to him, the tourist spot has been closed since March 8, 2023. And replanted the Bunga Rawa plant to restore the ecosystem after the damage.
"To accelerate efforts to restore the environment after the damage, in the near future we will hold a rehabilitation movement involving environmental activist elements and all other related parties," he said.
Meanwhile, Rancaupas Tourism Manager Riki Setiadi said that people who had made reservations before the closing date could still visit Rancaupas.
However, it only applies to tourists visiting lodging facilities such as Bobocabin, Iglo, and Camper Van. As for the camp area, according to him, it can't be visited temporarily.
"When it's time for me it's not a year yet, we'll still wait for the next leadership news to open again," said Riki.
In the future, his party will also tighten permits for a number of activities that have the potential to damage the environment in Rancaupas, including offroad activities and trail motors.
"We may not give permission for the trail or the like. Moreover, the committee, which was not clearly rich yesterday," he said.
