3 Technology Trends Exhibited At CES 2021

JAKARTA - The 2021 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) was officially held. This event will be held for three days until January 14th.

For your information, CES 2021 is the first largest technology exhibition event to be held virtually after 53 years of being held offline because it is currently still a COVID-19 pandemic. All meetings are conducted by video conferencing and virtual experiences.

Even though it was held virtually, nothing had changed with the event. CES is still an arena to showcase the latest technology and electronics for technology companies such as the cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, IoT, and 5G.

Whether you are a CIO, IT worker, developer or business professional, we all need to understand how these technologies are used in consumer products and how they will impact our company, community and careers.

At CES 2021, there are three big trends that tech professionals and CIOs should watch out for as quoted from the Zdnet website.

1. Health, fitness and safety at work

As COVID vaccinations increase worldwide; office buildings and public meeting rooms will reopen, travel will increase, and life will return to normal.

But it will be a 'New Normal' life characterized by a more hybrid work environment, increased reliance on e-commerce and delivery-based services.

There will also be growth in the use of physical and mental health monitoring devices, as well as many new technologies to help people get together safely.

Technology companies that play an important role in supporting these technologies will be showcased at CES, among others.

2. Technology that bridges personal life and work

With the life of 'New Normal', now more and more homes have turned into workplaces. That's why a growing number of tech manufacturers are designing devices to facilitate smooth transitions between work and play.

They actively market this function to consumers as well as business technology decision makers.

Given the privacy, security, and connectivity considerations surrounding this type of technology, technology leaders should also monitor these trends very closely, and CES is a great place to see how many tech workers will use their homes as offices.

3. 5G technology

In the near future, 5G technology will not replace the 4G infrastructure. However, high bandwidth and low latency can be combined with edge computing to provide near real-time connectivity for SCADA (Supervisory Control Data Acquisition) systems, IoT devices, drones, and autonomous cars.

5G technology can also support more devices per square mile than 4G which is useful with the rapid development of network-connected devices. In short, 5G will enable many of the technological advances that we will see in this decade.
