Sriwijaya Air 182 Victims From Pekanbaru, New Brides, Went To Pontianak Want To Save

JAKARTA - One of the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane that crashed on Saturday, January 9 is a resident of Pekanbaru, Riau, named Putri Wahyuni, who is a newlywed.

When contacted from Pekanbaru, the victim's older brother, Aulia Rizki, said that Putri was on the plane with her husband, Ikhsan Hakim, from Pontianak City, West Kalimantan Province.

The husband and wife used the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane to Pontianak to do their wedding celebration at the house of their in-laws, or Ikhsan's parents.

Aulia said the family was now resigned, and only hoped that her family's body could be found. The family on Monday left for Jakarta to submit documents and DNA from Putri's parents who could assist in the identification process of the victim.

"We will bring files such as birth certificates, diplomas, and DNA data on the parents' DNA directly to the post for searching for victims," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 11.

He said that currently at the post, a family from Ihsan's side had already arrived. He hopes that the search for the bodies of his brother and sister-in-law can get the best results soon.

"Hopefully the body can be found so we can at least find out," he said.

The Sriwijaya Air passenger plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route with flight SJ-182 initially reportedly lost contact on Saturday (9/1). The plane lost contact when the plane was above 10,000 feet after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tengerang.

The search team has now collected dozens of body bags from the ill-fated plane. Furthermore, the body will undergo an identification process by the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team at the Medical and Health Center of the National Police Hospital which has carried out ante mortem data collection, namely victim identification data collection *
