Handling Of The Helmut Gaduh Case, IPW: Increasingly Strengthening Allegations Of Criminalization
JAKARTA - The law enforcement process for the Helmut Hermawan and PT CLM cases is increasingly creating a commotion. Recently, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso received his second witness summons by the Dirkrimsus Polda Sulsel.
According to Sugeng, the summons further strengthens the alleged criminalization experienced by Helmut Hermawan because he is known to be actively highlighting the performance of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit's subordinates.
"I am talking about the fact that the alleged criminalization is due to the responsibility of IPW as an organization that provides input to criticism of the performance of the Police so that it is in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. With the unprofessionalism, abuse of authority and violation of the code of ethics by the Dirkrimsus Polda Sulsel, I will clearly not fulfill the second summons, even though the summons is there," said Sugeng in his statement, quoted on Friday, March 10.
He said that calling him regarding the CLM case was an act of arrogant, arbitrary investigators and also abused the authority and contrary to the National Police Chief's Precision program, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
"The actions of the Dirkrimsus Polda Sulsel who are suspected of criminalizing Helmut and calling me for criticizing the performance of investigations that are not in accordance with the SOP and have made noise in law enforcement in the era of President Jokowi," he said.
Sugeng reiterated that President Jokowi had reminded law enforcement to make it easier to realize stable development.
"Law enforcers such as the police in handling cases properly without causing a commotion. For the unprofessionalism of the South Sulawesi Regional Police's Dirkrimsus, it has been reported to the National Police Headquarters Propam via letter Number: 075/IPW_SK/II/2023 by attaching the 1st Witness Call Letter number: S.Pgl/512/II/RES.5.3./2023/Ditreskrimsus, Release IPW dated February 23, 2023 and Media News," he said.
On the same occasion, his party is also investigating the spread of photos of Wamenkumham with the parties related to the PT CLM case.
"IPW is currently investigating the whereabouts of the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights together with parties related to the PT CLM case, in relation to the conflict of interest in deputy ministerial positions in the dispute over the share ownership of PT CLM where there is a process of ratifying shareholders at the Directorate General AHU which is under the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights," he said.
